Born and raised in Pakistan of Turkish parents, fortunate enough to be educated in a British school in Karachi, and then completing undergraduate and graduate studies in the US, Mr. Durdag is a member of his peer group of technology executives. Together with his chief executive officer duties for Biovation (www.biovation.com), Mr. Durdag is also currently a partner of BlueWave Investments. Previously he was the Director of Sales and Marketing of SenGenuity, a division of Vectron International responsible for global sales, marketing and product management initiatives. Prior to joining SenGenuity, he was the Chief Executive Officer of a young high-tech company, BiODE, responsible for the coordination and direction of operations, sales, marketing, manufacturing and business development activities for viscometer sensors for multiple scalable markets and eventually led the company to an acquisition event by Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV). He was the past Chief Technical Officer for STEAG HamaTech, Inc., a world leader in optical disc and semiconductor equipment design and manufacture. Before coming to STEAG, Kerem was Engineering Manager at Conceptronic, Inc a leading company which designed and manufactured capital equipment for the electronics industry. He has designed high tech and proprietary technology for rapid commercialization for several Fortune 500 companies, is a holder of several patents and has presented and published in numerous conferences, trade magazines and peer reviewed journals.
He is on the Board of Directors for Maine Center for Enterprise Development (www.mced.biz) and serves as advisor and mentor for the Top Gun program (www.topgunmaine.biz). He also serves on the Board of Advisors for AEC (www.aeceoncepts.biz) and Board of Directors of RateElert (www.rateelert.com) and is a member of the angel investor community Maine Angels (www.maineangels.org). Currently he is the Vice Chair of the Advisory Council for University of Southern Maine ASET (www.usm.maine.edu/aset/). He has also served on the boards of several non-profit (notably International Child Enrichment Program (www.icepkidsplay.org) and is also the founder of an event targeted to encourage entrepreneurship for high school and college students in Maine (www.createmaine.com). Mr. Durdag is also a published essayist, poet (www.ireakt.com) and past editor of poetry magazines. He received his Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University (MN) and Master in Mechanical Engineering from University of New Hampshire.
